Welcome Reverend Gary Logan to St. Augustine Shores UMC/July 1, 2025
Gary received an A.S. from Tampa Technical Institute, a B.S. from Florida Southern College and a MDiv from Asbury Seminary. He is married to Nicole, who is also an ordained elder in the UMC. They are a blended family and have 5 adult children and two still at home: Zach and David.
I came to my faith as an adult when I learned that God was a God who relentlessly pursues us to be in relationship, God is a God who loves us wildly and overwhelmingly through Christ Jesus, and God is a God who never leaves us to walk through this life alone through the work of the Holy Spirit. I am called, and wholeheartedly all in, to serve in ordained ministry to share the love of God to the world to make disciples of Jesus Christ. Christ came, not to condemn the world but to save it, I am here to do my part to help make that happen. I believe that our triune God is the God of creation, re-creation and comfort. This is the God of unimaginable grace and love. God came here in the form of Christ Jesus to save us from sin and death. In doing so, he died on a cross and was resurrected for the redemption of, not only the sin of humanity, but the sins of me. I believe that God loves us so much that if there was only one person standing on the face of the planet, Jesus would have still showed up.
I have been called to use the gifts and experiences that God has provided for me to help rebuild the United Methodist Church.
